Probably a combination of both, I do believe he could perform for us

MY saw a desperate need for an experienced scorer given who we have coming back and the other guys we targeted in the portal. He has the skillset we’ve been lacking, mainly defense at the 1 and ability to attack the basket. He’s shown good vision and passing ability but he doesn’t lean on it. I think MY saw a guy who was an athletic upgrade with experience carrying the offensive load and thought if he surrounded him with complimentary pieces he could excel. The issue is to use the complementary pieces you need to play within the system, otherwise you’re going to clog the spacing we require for screening. If you freelance (think Radford) you better be top tier in finishing efficiency. MY has shown he’s more comfortable with guys who can run the offense than guys who win 1 on 1. If it’s a close competition he’s going to lean that way every time.
