I wrestled for McLean HS in 1970 and everyone knew about Granby, Coach Martin and his two sons. Granby had won numerous state championships with Coach Martin. McLean had a good team that year and in the finals, we lost to Granby by one point. David Martin had pinned one of our best wrestlers in the 1st period who was undefeated up to that point. Funny story. David Martin went to Oklahoma State on a wrestling scholarship. Same college as Dexter Manley of the Redskins. Manley had a huge scar on his cheek that many redskins fans were aware of. Well, the story goes that David Martin was at a local bar having a beer with his girlfriend and Manley sat down next to David's girlfriend and proceeded to flirt with her. This enraged David so he broke his beer bottle over the bar and jabbed the broken bottle into Manley's face, causing the scar. The Martin brothers bordered on pathological.
