Matchup zones can be effective vs certain opponents and matchups. My personal favorite is a 1-2-2 amoeba type matchup zone. Honestly with our personnel (Gurdak and Dorn obviously not at same time but if it had to be done out of necessity…) that could work if taught properly in offseason He tried a little 1-3-1 but I think that’s one of the worst/most difficult to play due to the number of teams with good baseline 3 pt shooters ** Edited by hokiepro at 3/11/2026, 11:05:10 PM
