I’m not a fan of booing players — but I think we are no longer in the era of the student-athlete. Also, if I were to boo a player, it would be for things like a lack of effort or focus — which are 100% within the control of the player. Shooting slumps happen. But his mediocre effort on the defensive end (and that’s being generous) is worthy of criticism. If he was diving on the floor for loose balls, sacrificing his body taking charges, and generally leaving it all out on the floor, I think (some) fans would be more forgiving of the shooting slump. But he doesn’t do those things. Again, these guys are now pros. Sorry if they get booed but suck it up.
