I hear what you're saying but you know how this works. The argument that

. . . "Well, he's doing as well as any coach at XXX can be expected to do" EVENTUALLY fails even if it's objectively true. Those who write the checks are always wanting 'better'. The hope provided by change is necessary in almost every situation (see Justin Fuente).
