How do you know the coaches didn’t support him?

Players and coaches live in different college bubble that has its own community. They all love the sport and they all have goals of being successful and making money. And the coaches know that players have a small window of opportunity to cash in on their successes. If players were employees and got a controlled salary with bonuses then I bet we would see a lot more staying with a school and less portal testing. The current situation is all about having a completely unregulated system with free flowing cash. So of course all good players are going to try and maximize their NIL while they can. It’s the smart thing to do even if they love a school and coach.
