Success in football is the best chance VT has of getting into the P2. If that happens, there will be plenty of money for all sports. If it doesn’t, we will have a big problem. Despite what some have been saying, we clearly don’t have enough NIL to compete in basketball. Given the cost of doing business, I don’t think we will unless we get into a P2 conference. If that happens, donors can find NIL more as the school will have more revenue to pay for things that our donors currently finance.
