Has to do with the fact that our guards just can't challenge many if . . .
any defenders off the dribble. Pedulla is almost uncanny in his ability NOT to draw fouls even when he gets to the basketball. That's not Hunter's game at all and MJ is scared to death he'll actually get open and have to shoot (for good reason). Maybe Rice can help with this but likely not til next season.
