from ESPN and the conferences that go into these matchups now. It has morphed since the beginning from a purely 1 v 1, 2 v 2 and so on lineup and as with most things TV wants matchups and there are certain named coaches and schools that get more consideration than some of the lesser marquee names. They also must balance the home games versus away games and I think this probably impacts repeat matchups more than we fans realize. It is a clean slate with the SEC upcoming so we will see how things set up anew.
