I get these guys don't have the VT fandom that we do - but the same is true for a lot of guys that stick around and play 3-4 years. The player & fan/"civilian" alumni experience are very different. But saying "thanks" to the fans on the way out is not a bad move, and doing otherwise has a tendency to draw ire.
