SEC domination is a myth
No titles in any of the major sports EXCEPT
TEXAS in softball (not traditional SEC) now OU has a chance in baseball.
B1G wins in football, basketball, women’s bball
Sec (sort of) wins in softball
Sec (sort of) vs ACC for baseball
If Texas & OU had not bolted the B12 the SEC would be getting shut out of major college sport national titles

run by the SEC in terms of championships even excluding Texas & Oklahoma. The long-time/traditional SEC schools aren’t in this year’s championship game but prior to this year, the last six champions and seven of the last eight have all been long-time SEC schools.
And to add to the dominance, if you look at the last 16 teams in the championship game over the last 8 tournaments prior to this year, 11 of the 16 teams are long-time SEC schools and if you count Texas A&M (who was in the SEC at the time) and Oklahoma (who is now in the SEC), that is 13 of 16 teams that are now in the SEC.
It will be interesting to see if the ACC can make more of the CWS championship games going forward. The ACC is the very clear #2 conference in baseball but there is still a material gap between the SEC and ACC.

the "right now". Domination is something exerted over a period of time rather than a specific single point and the SEC has been dominant in baseball. The stranglehold they formerly enjoyed in football has been weakened by the B1G with three straight wins which pushes football closer a cyclical thing rather than pure domination.

Remember when VT dominated ACC football? I think we won 4 ACC titles, then passed the mantle to Clemson, who dominated for a few years. Right now the ACC (football) is wide open for someone to come in to dominate it again. Why not VT again?

in the last 80 years or so the ACC has won EXACTLY 2 NCAA champships when teams were actually in the ACC. Miami hasn't even won one in like 20+ years. Throwing shade at the SEC when they have probably won in the 15 to 20 range since Skip Bertman got hold of LSU in the 90s is really not even a comparison.

The interesting thing is none of the "new" SEC schools like OU, Texas, A&M have won a title in recent memory. The last time OU won one I was in attendance in 1994. The Minor boys, Chip Glass and crew destroyed a GT team full of future MLB all stars in the championship game...back when they only played one, not best of 3.
