He's always been a base runner looking to be aggressive and take big leads or steal as soon as he sees a chance. It will definitely lead to him getting caught sometimes, but the hope is that it brings in a few more runs over the course of the season. If you watch he moves a lot when he's on base. He doesn't just walk out to his lead and walk back. He is changing directions and trying to be a problem for the opposing battery. I like it, but it obviously presents some risk.

professional orgs. are adopting looks a lot like that. It's creating that momentum to start the steal on the move. If you don't time it right you have to get back to the safe lead distance and do over. Obviously it could create some situations where a savvy pitcher can use that against you, but baserunners are getting better and better at it. Pitch clock and limited pick opps help too.
