I'm usually not an alarmist but this is bad. Even if we find a way...
to come back and win, being down 9-4 after 6 innings at home against Marshall after a lackluster weekend is not a good look.
I have been more hopeful about the pitching but all four pitchers we have used today are core weekend pitchers and each gave up at least 1 run including Crowl struggling again in a very short stint. Allowing 8 of their 9 hitters to get at least 1 hit through 6 innings is just not good.
And the hitting is still not where it needs to be and we are getting worked by a lefty throwing mid-80's and Cooke is essentially an automatic out at this point.
Not sure there is much of a fix at this point so hopefully the team can regroup and find some confidence for tough back-to-back away series.

Is Cooke that much better of an arm or backstop than French?

Cooke was certainly better defensively last year, but I'm not sure how much

You'd have to imagine CJS is saying I can't let him work out of this slump

Looks like a track meet when Marshall is at the plate. **
