Their Pitching Lab is a known commodity at this point
Chase Burns was lured there last off season, likely in part due to the Pitching Lab they have in Winston-Salem. Although being stuck in the bullpen at Tennessee likely didn't make it difficult to leave. Wake has done quite a job developing pitchers and it's likely he's looking to follow in the path of others before him. I don't say any of this in opposition to our own pitching development, but simply identifying the perspective Griffin might have to improve himself amongst elite company and coaching.
