Posting History (97)

Why would we care if it opens the portal?

He’s getting fired anyway so you might as well get it over with sooner rather than later.

Honestly, not really. Apathy has more or less set in.

I’ve been going to games for 35 years and I would say that the bad losses when we were a great/decent team felt far worse. The JMU loss was bad, the 2003 UVA loss was bad with all the talent we had on our team, the first ODU loss, etc. While our program is certainly the worst its been in my lifetime, I’m numb to how bad we are.

Does he really want to be associated with the Beeks Geeks?

I suppose it's better than Harding Farting, Gilbert Stinkous or Prices Fork Dorks.

Drones has had two possessions in the second half

On the first, the coach wouldn’t go for it on 4th and inches, and on the second, the o-line got run over. Drones hasn’t looked good but he doesn’t play defense and he doesn’t call the plays. It’s embarrassing how we get out coached every second half.

Either USCe or Ole Miss are more deserving.

I just can’t get up in arms over Miami being left out when they are, in reality, a 7 or 8 win team without blatant bias by the ACC officials.

It didn't seem like a true rushing of the field.

It was more a slow, coordinated meandering onto the field to celebrate a win in the last game of the season against your rival. Plus, who turns down an opportunity to be on the field? It was quite fun.

Drones after the game.

I know people have different feelings about Drones, but I wanted to share that last night after the game, Drones was celebrating for a pretty long time on the field and was taking pictures with lots of fans. He was very generous with his time and seemed genuinely happy for the win. Just a small anecdote.

Why doesn’t Fry use his timeouts on this side of the 2 min warning?

It’s fairly common knowledge that it saves time. Here, if we stop three runs, it would save around 20 seconds.

Have you ever watched pro wrestling where the ref gets "knocked out"?

The good guy then pins his opponent and the ref conveniently misses it. The bad guy then cheats and pins his opponent right as the ref wakes up. That's the point of replay in the ACC where you are trying to protect an undefeated team.

I remember that play.

I was watching from the corner near the bleachers in the south end zone with my dad.

Vanderbilt is a cupcake. Who cares if they're technically a P4/P5 team?

The only FBS team Vanderbilt beat last year was a five-win Hawaii team. They lost all of their conference games by two touchdowns or more. They have won a grand total of two conference games this decade. Vanderbilt is a bad team and if you can't beat Vanderbilt (by a large margin), you are no where close to even thinking about the playoffs. I had high hopes coming into this year but losing to Vanderbilt quickly dashed them.

We didn't schedule a tough opponent. We scheduled Vanderbilt.

Last year, the only FBS team that Vanderbilt beat was a 5-win Hawaii team at home (and even in this game, they were outgained by 100 yards). They lost each of their conference games by two touchdowns or more. They have won two conference games this decade. We weren't playing the 85 Bears.

Does UW get disqualified from the CFP because their RB got injured?

Maybe since it wasn’t a QB injury, they should just start down a touchdown against Michigan? ** Edited by vtfanuvalaw at 1/2/2024, 12:53:56 AM

Yes, because a guy who wasn't going to play in the CFP, stunk in one game.

If the committee's rationale had been that Alabama and Texas had a better resume, I would disagree but wouldn't be as outraged. Here, however, the committee based their decision on how a 3rd string QB performed in one game after one week of preparation when that QB isn't event going to play in the playoffs. It'd be like dinging Alabama because Tyler Buchner stunk against USF.

They should probably just send us the trophy and call off the game.

No point at all in playing the actual games since we can just look at a QB's Madden rating and determine who will win.

His offensive line really didn't do him any favors.

Kudos to that kid for toughness, but might be a little shy on brains for poking the bear.
