Posting History (45)

Canada leads 53-14 at halftime. Hill started, has 5 points.

As the score indicates, it's pros vs. amateurs. No rosters or stats available. I would like to know who #15 for Canada is. She's somebody you wouldn't want to pick a fight with

Going to Canada vs. Mexico national teams game tonight.

In Victoria, Canada. The Canadian team has Sami Hill, who played for the Hokies 2013-2017. She currently plays for a Spanish team.

Live video of the women's championship

It stopped snowing, and they did a good job of making the field playable.

York won on a penalty kick in the second OT period. And I was mistaken...

... about the women's championship. Trinity Western vs. Laval was the bronze medal game. They canceled it, and gave the bronze to both teams. The final is the Montreal Carabins (the Fighting Interns) vs. British Columbia, and it's scheduled to start at 7:30 PM EST.

Canadian men's soccer game being played in pouring snow.

York vs. Mount Royal, in Toronto. It's scoreless in overtime. They're playing with a yellow ball because it's more visible. Link to a highlight. The women's championship is being played in Hamilton, ON, and it's pouring snow there, too. Both the championship game (Trinity Western vs. Laval) and the bronze medal game have been delayed.

Watching women's ice hockey live on YouTube now.

The brand-new Professional Women's Hockey League. Ottawa at Toronto, and they're playing in Maple Leafs Gardens.

I visited the Canadian Lacrosse Hall of Fame today

In New Westminster, British Columbia. Small, but sufficiently interesting. Here's a couple of pictures.

Just bought one. Section 17. $71.

Google Maps says 5 hour drive from Kamloops, BC, but that certainly doesn't take Seattle traffic jams into account.

Just got an email from HokieSports.com

It directed me to the NCAA site, which in turn directed me to Ticketbastard.

You're talking about Ticketbastard, right?

My preference would be to get a ticket out of VT's allotment. How does that work? Is there a phone # to call?

He said that because...

... he wants to be able to wax poetic if the Golden Domers make a big second half comeback. I hate ND more than anyone else on this board. Prove me wrong. :-)

U. of Portland swept double-header at Texas A&M yesterday

This was the biggest news in college baseball yesterday. You ask, who is the U. of Portland? It is the home of the Pamplin School of Business Administration. That was named after Robert B. Pamplin Jr. He is the son of Robert B. Pamplin, a VT alum, a heavy contributor to the university, and was on the Board of Visitors 1971-79. Pamplin Hall and the Pamplin College of Business Administration are named after him.

I found a working video stream

Some patience is required: lots of annoying popups, but it DOES work; I'm watching it now. ** Edited by roberb7 at 11/7/2022, 9:42:45 PM

I feel the same way

Summer leagues remind me of that great scene in "Field of Dreams" where they pick a hitchhiker, and it turns out to be Moonlight Graham. If there's such a thing as reincarnation, I want to play college baseball and do summer leagues. Not for (heresy) the Hokies, but for Embry-Riddle in Daytona Beach.

Only one in West Coast League

I went through all the rosters of West Coast League teams, and the only one I found was incoming freshman OF Cooper Cross of Reno, NV, who plays for the Walla Walla Sweets.

Sooners or Golden Domers?

I figure that if OK wins this thing, it makes the Hokies look good.

Here was a bad omem.

I've wanted to go to the CWS for many years. And, I had a friend who lived in Omaha. I messaged him on Sunday telling him that I just might be coming for a visit. I learned a day later that he died of cancer Sunday night. Bummer.

Gonzaga is always a good team to root against

If you think that WVU and ND fans are obnoxious, wait until you meet some Gonzaga fans.
