Will be fun seeing how coach fills the gaps. Just got on board a flight back to Atlanta and this is the first place I went to check before we take off!

speak, that is just part of the job. I kind of enjoyed the stands freaking out a bit when I made a call and then going to the film after the game to see that I was right. But there were times I would like and see, maybe I wasn't so right. Just like the players who miss shots or make a mental mistake, officials are going to miss calls, or call something that wasn't really there. And once that whistle blows, the decision has already been made. Fans have to understand that this is just a much a part of the game as missed shots by players. You minimize it the best you can by working hard at your craft, but you are human. But as you say, the reason why officials are leaving the game is the utter insanity by players, coaches and fans, the mob mentality that is just getting out of control. There are numerous videos out there with officials being physically assaulted particularly in the AAU ranks or even in rec league games. Or just fans/parents coming on the floor and verbally abusing them or a whole stands worth of fans going nuts.. I officiated for 25 years in the high school ranks, and the over the top incidents were rare, but they did happen. I only had to ask for an escort for me and my crew one time. But if I was still officiating today, I'm sure it would be a regular thing. But I have NO desire to get out on the floor in this kind of environment. Not worth it. Then you see players getting into altercations that are just stupid. And to me it is shocking the number of events happening in the women's college game. The South Carolina/LSU fiasco being a prime example. Why players feel that kind of altercation is justifiable is just beyond me. I understand emotions running high in a game, but come on. I personally thought that other players should have been ejected from that game for the altercation that didn't. So I don't see what you are saying as rambling. You speak the truth.

I can understand her being frustrated by the lack of some of the calls on how physical the play has been against her, but approaching it the way she has, just seemed petty to me. And then she pulls the show boat stuff at the end of the game after the foul call at the end. Appreciated her coaches telling here to calm it down. Just lessens my respect for her and the top notch player she is.

just because of the severity of the call. But last night was pretty egregious not to have lit her up, or at least being in her face about her behavior. That was WAY past crossing the line. I was screaming at the TV the entire time to light her up. You should never let a coach embarrass you or your crew like that. Uncalled for. I had a coach do the stomp stuff on me one time after I had already warned the bench about them running their mouth. She made it easy to call it (and unfortunately for her in a critical juncture of the game).

I thought Collins played great in Orlando. Hustling making plays even when the shot wasn't really falling. We missed his presence against Auburn.

They are looking pretty strong right now.
