Thanks for your thorough and insightful post. It should be clear to anyone that this overall situation is complex, & we can only imagine all that goes on behind the scenes. It's refreshing to hear from supporters who have empathy and champion these very hard-working student athletes and coaching staff. Trust that everyone involved is simply doing their best. Unfortunately, social media provides a platform for armchair critics to make thoughtless, ignorant, or insulting remarks without any accountability. So here's to all of the players and coaching staff and their fans who actually support them through thick and thin!

Have often seen her play, very gifted athlete, also on the volleyball team and has won state titles in shot out and discus. More importantly she is an amazing person and teammate, who inspires everyone she meets. She has family in NC, wanted to play in ACC so her parents etc, could attend many games.

Any college coach should be equally concerned with their team's academic status etc. If Coach Brooks really knew this player, and was fully aware of her student graduation goals and status it is truly baffling. Coach Duffy has mentioned how important academics and getting a degree are.

Dad was well spoken, down to earth, authentic family values. It is truly unbelievable with Cassidy's total dedication, and the timing with her about to begin her senior year at a University she has always completely loved.

At one of their home games in NCAA tournament, she paid for 2000 student tickets so they could attend, money well spent. And she is so masterful at press conferences, very clever woman.

She has coached teams that have won FOUR national championships, her overall winning percentage is about .860%

Just wanted an ACC team to beat South Carolina & Duke came very close, Fournier is special.

And seems like an even more awesome person. I've said it before on here that too many folks like to take cheap shots & criticize every second of a game, as if they could do better if they were out there on the court making split second decisions. Support YOUR team, these are amazing young ladies who are playing their best, win or lose, and are working on getting their college degree.

ESPN analytics favors VT by 59.8%. Bleacher Nation prediction is VT73 - BC 71. It is BC's senior night, as we know that can be a motivating factor. Joined this to read more facts about the team, but sadly too many use it just to trash players and coaches, past and present.

Can't believe the folks on this site who just take cheap shots and make very derogatory comments about these young student athletes. From what I've seen, the students have much more class, and hopefully they don't read the trashy, idiotic comments on here. Try being in their shoes for a change and instead just support them during this long, challenging season.
