I think that CKB professionally fumbled the ball on his way out but...
the whole tone of how all this was handled tells me that there were some personality issues and hurt feelings at play and that may may have caused this that we'll never know about.

I'm sure that there's some timing issue with their respective announcements.

My point...
was that he didn't replace Traylor and Soule with equal or better when he certainly should and could have.
He did recruit well a year after that final four run.
Mulkey and Staley don't let gaps happen.
Maybe we aren't going to miss him as much as we think now.

Just a thought,...
If Mulkey or Staley had lost one of their best players, would their teams have fallen out of the top ten?
If they had lost two players to graduation, Taylor and Soule, would they have failed to recruit equal or better replacements after their final four run?
I had recently proposed that we pay Brooks whatever it took to keep him. That came from my desire to keep this recruiting class.
But looking back, I think I was wrong.
Like most people in life, Brooks is replaceable even though he will be missed.
