Oh definitely knew at the time
Stiney had us playing pro, spread, and everything in between at the same time - there was no consistency in scheme. How you recruit, coach, and play is wildly different across those types of offenses. It was like he knew Power I had been successful at VT so felt obligated to keep it but college was already moving to more spread and he wanted to try that, while also trying to re-invent a new Mike Vick - pure mess for all of us on offense.

Considering I played for Stiney and saw first hand...
How terrible it is to play/learn under a TE coach turned inexperienced OC who has no concept of scheme and offensive identity... I think I at least qualify as "Experienced Complainer"

Here is why I don't want Franklin
This team has plenty of flaws but clearly the lack of a competent QB is problem #1. That's on Pry for not recruiting and developing other options - it's been clear for 3yrs that Drones is a terrible passer. How does this relate to Franklin you ask??
Franklin did the same thing and the same decision with Allar. Allar got some media hype before the year but anyone who actually watched games last year saw that he was their weak link. We don't need another coach who can't make either 1) the hard decision to find better options; 2) coach up the most important position on the field.

Drones isn't worth $100k, let alone $1M... Guy has no true passing talent
Runs hard and has strong enough arm but lacks touch, accuracy, and gets excitable... Frankly, he's the worst passer on the team so they better save their money. Let someone else overpay if that's what he's expecting.

Let's face reality... But push for what we can control
First, despite doing everything possible to lose his job... Pry isn't getting fired! He's such a terrible game manager, this is the second game where his <1min of 2nd quarter cost the game.
However, Bowen HAS to be fired!! He's so freaking bad. It's like watching our past 20yr of bad OCs... Over rely on QBs making plays and get them beat up to hell. His constant use of behind the LoS passes, the lack of using TEs, the lack of inside the hashes routes, and so many other donkey decisions is exhausting. We don't have a single strong armed QB - stop throwing outside the hashes!!!
Pry needs to hold himself accountable to the fans/media, fire Bowen, and get a damn game mgmt analyst if he wants to do anything next year.

This game is an easy victory if pry does one of three things... 1) calls TO with 3sec left in half, 2) let's Miami call TO before half, 3) kicks into end zone.
Then just take the damn 3pt when you are underdog on the later FG.
The VT players beat the Miami ringers... Unfortunately the VT coaches beat the VT players

He's a terrible passer... Almost never puts it in a catchable spot and certainly not where they can run with it. He's regressed as a passer. He's an athlete and a play maker but his actual passing sucks.
