They’ve been in the ACC since 1953. So my response is always Tech has 4 championships and uva has 0. UVA might finally get one outright this year.

including Tech. Honestly I think it’s half the reason Franklin took the job. If he wins 8 to 10 games a year he won’t get fired at Tech like he did at PSU. Personally I’m happy with Tech being competitive and striving for ACC championship. On a different note this coaching carousel would slow down if two things change. Coaches cannot leave until February and players sign contracts with schools. Until those two things happen this will be the norm, coaches leave and take their staff, players, and commits with them to the highest bidder.

W the current state of cfb a coach can have success and leave for more money and take his players with him. Schools no longer need to wait years for a team to be competitive after hiring a coach. For example, Curt Cignetti. UVA fans are quick to point out tech hired a coach who was fired. Well judging by all the 4 star kids committing this week it’s obvious what is happening. The difference between PSU and tech is that tech will be happy w the type of success Franklin had at PSU. Will Franklin be able to actually coach ? Time will tell. I’d bet money tech is quickly a 8 to 9 win team by 2027. Is he going to win it all at Tech ? Better chance of a snowball in hell. UVA fans criticism of Franklin hire reminds me of their inability to understand the portal when it started. That first portal year Tech players left the program left and right, uva fans not having foresight assumed this would only happen to teams w poor culture, coaching, etc. Well look how that turned out for the entirety of CFB. I’m actually glad uva gets to taste some success this year, it’ll be that much better to watch their misery when they start struggling again next year.

If uva doesn’t choke to Duke in ACC championship they will get blown out in 1st game of CFP. Franklin could be a complete dud but he is already filling holes w 4star recruits something Fu and Pry couldn’t do. Tech will never be a championship team but they should be competitive again under Franklin. This year’s win for UVA will be just another blip on the radar of a long history of Tech beating them. Even a blind squirrel finds an acorn every now and then.

Every FBS football squad in VA is decent except for Tech, hope that serves as motivation for everyone to do better.

hotel management is a grift. Standards have been lowered across the US at schools to help these kids get a degree and stay eligible to play. Guess who else benefits from these kids staying and playing for free ? lol this isn’t opinion it’s factual. Yes most of these football kids are only there to play ball. It’s insane the amt of money schools made and players reaped no benefit. The solution is to allow schools to sign players to contracts, schools have GMs, and the league needs a commissioner.

Too many opt outs, transfers, etc. Pry might as well just do whatever to see what these guys got etc and get some experience under their belts. Bowls are really pointless now w a 12 team playoff. I usually think TSL is bad enough w all the self loathing and armchair qb action going on. When I look at thesabre it’s like they are just insufferable miserable people. All they do is talk about Tech on a board that is supposed to be about UVA. I hope one day they have a decent football team so they will knock this $hit off.
