One is done on the sly. The other is done at midfield to humiliate opponent
for everybody in the stadium to see. Not a good comparison.
Disrespecting your opponent at midfield is basically taunting and often ends up with fights.
Wouldn't be surprised if conferences put an end to it next year.

Did you have an expert opinion on the GT touchdown to Drones at the time?
you seem to think that by having over 105k posts on here and commenting on everything that people take you seriously. they don't
Football Board

I really have no idea what you are trying to post.
You can't throw the ball twice forward.
We threw the ball backward which means we can throw it forward. All football teams do this.We did it 2 weeks ago vs. GT
Ugh, just stop....
Football Board

UGH. the first pass was 2+ yards backwards. It was a designed play.
stop. just stop. ++
the pass back to Drones was perfectly legal. Just not on target..
Football Board

First pass went backward. Any pass after is fine as long as the OLine dont
go downfield. they did not. Drones played it perfectly. We threw it back perfectly. Unfortunately,, they saw what was happening...

So if we ran Tuten into the line for zero gains on first and second
and then ran that play you would stop being completely insufferable??
You are an armchair QB. nobody takes your seriously. it's so easy to judge after the fact.
i don't have a job right now which is why I asked if you were on the pay side. Even given my financial situation I'd rather be over there instead of watching you pretend this is your personal blog...

Did you have an expert opinion on the GT touchdown to Drones at the time?
or did you complain that it didn't fit your game plan?
you seem to think that by having over 105k posts on here and commenting on everything that people take you seriously. they don't.

We threw a TD back to Drones against GT with 1:51 left in the first half
were you *****ing about that play when it worked?
And ENOUGH with the CAPS when you feel it MAKES a point. You just LOOK ridiculous.
And seriously, you've been here since 99 and you aren't on the pay side??

We threw a TD back to Drones against GT with 1:51 left in the first half
was that stupid? This was 2 min left in the first half.
hindsight complaining............

A terrible mistake bringing in two unproven coordinators in a program that
had been waiting 5-10 years for improvement.
sadly, this.

Well, because of your ALL CAPS at times and ending your post with "period"
I'm going to have to assume that your opinion is the final say on the matter. Also because you have over 105k posts. That clearly shows you are someone to listen to.

If we score we're up 14-0 on Clemson at home with our D playing lights out.
I have to assume the coaches figured worst case scenario is incomplete pass. 2nd and 10 with 1:50 to go. then get conservative and kick if need be.
I see your argument because of Pry's terrible clock management. But your view looks too much like convenient hindsight.
We were in a position to score and we tried. It barely didn't work.
but in reality, this is what did us in.....4 runs by an RB for 0 yards.

funny you should ask. another pic.
i think drones did well in playing very nonchalant in trying to trick the defenders. just one guy noticed what was up. i sent the following pic to a friend saying that if the throw was a few yards up field it also would've worked.
Football Board

Yup. His defender fell down and he was wide open. But based on the linemen's
actions i'm guessing Greene never really was planning to look downfield and the play was designed to go back to drones regardless.

pics of the play nearly everybody hated - the pass back to drones
1. this is in no way a defense of our coaches. I'm over this "learn on the job" experiment. But....
2. did anybody notice our whole offensive line laid down at the start of the play? Serious trickeration.
3. two weeks ago we threw back to Drones for a TD and everybody was ecstatic. This time, everybody screamed "worst call in history".
4. at this point we had 18 rushing yards. We fooled 10 guys but 1 defender recovered and stopped a walk-in TD. I can't blame the OC for at least trying. He knew our running game was in a bad way.
5. in the end, it didn't matter. we finished with 40 rushing yards and our D was gassed.
btw, this was 1st and 10 at the 28 with 2 min to go. Trying to do "anything" to get 7 instead of settling for a conservative 3 was the right move in my book. We scored 31 in regulation the week before and lost. Be aggressive (FNM)

here's a pic. he could've walked into the end zone
i'm not saying i like the call. just pointing out that it was very close to 7 points.

He was limping last week vs GT. Hints this week that someone important was
going to be out. He's on the sideline in a boot. Nothing fishy. He's hurt.

Nothing. That completely misses the point though. Why is the head coach
turning his attention a few 3rd stringers sitting on the bench instead of paying attention to the fact that there is a minute left in the game and we are down by 4?

We had a chance. We were just a couple of coaches away from finishing the
way you want against a good football team....
Burke Hokie was the first to mention this yesterday morning and it bothered me as well during the game. During the final drive when Pry should be hyper-focused on the field/clock/Drones he takes time to go back and tell players to get off the bench and watch from the sidelines.
You are paid millions to win games, not play hype man/cheerleader to guys on the bench in the final minute.
You are paid millions to understand clock management.
1-10.
Ugh.

If 1986 is the correct answer then it's prob Steve Hale (deep snapper), but
from the pic in the media guide the white jersey has maroon stripes on the sleeves. (not sure how many diff combos they would have back then). An image does show Russell Athletic for that year.

the film you speak of is the play on the field
this dude was filming the signals being given from the sideline all game long. Match that with tape on the field and you'll figure out what all the signals mean. (once you are able to weed out the dummy signals)

The NCAA does not specifically prohibit sign-stealing, but
off-campus, in-person scouting of future opponents is prohibited by NCAA Bylaw 11.6.1, which was enacted in 1994 as a cost-cutting measure designed to promote equity between well-funded programs and those with fewer resources.

19, 34, 55, and 12 yard TD runs UNTOUCHED. We grabbed Monangai's ankle
on the last run at the 1 yard line but that's basically untouched.

You realize he's returning kickoffs? FBs don't do that.
Perhaps I'm getting ahead of myself but I came away thinking he's going to be a good one.
