Wow, and with all this, she had an amazing season. I started calling her
"Clutch" when she was at the plate because she always seemed to get a hit when the team needed it. Will miss her for sure!

Honestly hard to really tell
You may be right, but I think there are some advantages given to teams with higher RPIs such as better seeds and playing at home. What if those teams had to go on the road? Would they still win? Granted VT's home record was a bit baffling this year, but it's a big advantage when hosting a region and super, so one could argue that those higher RPI teams are winning b/c they're at home.
My biggest issue with the RPI is that many times teams can't control who they play and it punishes you for winning games. Now, I'd need to do a full analysis (which I'm too lazy to do), but the RPI has proven time and time again at least in basketball to be a BS metric. There are better ones our there as you mentioned.

Friday, she pitched lights out on Sunday. Duke weekend comes to mind.

It feels the same every time this happens. The committees
whether we're talking basketball, softball, whatever seem to adjust their story to justify the results they came up with. All we ask for is to come up with the rules, then use them. Everyone knows that the RPI is extremely flawed, so why are we still using it? I say come up with a BCS type system and take the committee out of it. In the BCS, polls were factored in anyway.
At this point though, all there is to do get a big chip on your shoulder and go beat the snite out of everyone you play. This team has the tools to do it.
