Fire all the former Penn St Assistant coaches

Couldn't win the big games at Penn St, can't win the easy ones at Tech

Uninspired offense

Can't believe we continue to be let down by this program. We've fed them all the tools necessary to be great and I have yet to see them capitalize. Disgusted and disappointed.

7-8 months of preparation for that performance? Can still win ACC?

Stay off the drÅĢgs man we looked awful. Only guys I thought played well were Dorian Strong (wasn't targeted) and Peter Moore!

Is nobody worried about Drones? Accuracy was horrible today

Threw behind or under three receivers on almost every throw today. Should have had 3 INT's as well. Poor decision making, showed no ability to escape from the pocket, and to make matters worse seems very injured. I'll chalk a lot of it up to poor play calling but my god he disappointed me today. ** Edited by WLD_Hokie at 8/31/2024, 5:56:33 PM

Sick and tired of "Hokie fans" complaining about Coach Brooks...

under Chloe's twitter post. I was appalled when reading the replies under her tweet. Specifically the ones from VTMarkV and Hokie Tommy. Bunch of adult men crying that they didn't get a little apology from a guy they've never met. 2 adult men that have probably never gone through what Brooks is going through right now. Is it too much to ask to grow the hell up, pay your respects to coach and his family, and move on? Terrible look for our fan base, especially with the traction Chloe's tweet is gaining right now.

Have to grab Tyler Neville (TE) from Harvard

6'4 235 TE from the 757 and already has offers from UVA, BC, and Akron. Will be a grad transfer and has pro potential. Has an unbelievable story you can read at: https://www.thecrimson.com/article/2022/11/18/fb-2022-har... I don't have access to the recruiting board but somebody, somewhere, get one of our guys to at least take a look at him! You won't regret it!

He's good enough to transfer to SEC

Hopefully won't have to see him any more. True freshman

You're absolutely right!

The rule is kind of ridiculous to begin with and I haven't heard a great reason for banning these schools from post season play for 2 years once they make the jump. However, what JMU fans fail to realize is that their own athletic department read the contract (assuming they can read), agreed to the terms and conditions, and now must honor the obligations listed on the contract. Off the top of my head, I know ODU and Troy both had to miss out on a bowl game when they made the jump. And yes, JMU is 100% looking to gain that extra money from playing in conference champ + bowl game. Their athletic department finances are going to go downhill pretty soon but that's a whole different conversation.

Center Street will be ROCKING today

Last home game means a lot of seniors have been up for at least an hour or two by now. I hope the mimosas are flowing and the grilled breakfast sando's are bountiful I know the townies that live around Center are celebrating the last home game for different reasons lol.

I can understand JMU fans being excited about their success

However, they certainly shouldn't be allowed to go to a bowl game. That's what has caused most of this uproar from Harrisonburg

Thoughts on ways to make students stay longer at football games?

Where do you put the blame on the reason why students leave early? Examples I've seen on twitter: - Poor performance from team in the past few years - Center St - Laziness from students - Poor scheduling - Changes to student gate access have caused students to have to arrive more than an hour before kickoff

Perfect way to debut new jerseys next season (if we get any)

It's time for football to bring back black or Hokie stone alternate jerseys. It just adds some extra excitement to games. Yes, our uniforms are the least of our worries as a program right now but I'd love to see something new. Disclaimer: ODU did this back in 2011 I believe. But here's what I think would be awesome for Lane Stadium to experience. First home night game of the season. The team comes out warming up in our usual home jerseys and head to the locker room as the crowd prepares for Enter Sandman. Then once the team comes back out for their walk to the tunnel, they're wearing our new alternate uniforms. It'd hopefully be a huge shock to the entire crowd and would make us that much louder cheering on our Hokies. I'm sure the players wouldn't mind a cool new look and would reciprocate our excitement on the field. Do you think this would be a good idea? Again, I'm not saying this is by any means a need for our program. Just something new.

I think we handle Iowa easily if we play them in the tournament

Despite the loss and horrible foul calls, I think we learned how to guard Clark better as the game went on. You could tell the way she got increasingly frustrated with seemingly the refs, her teammates, even her coaches at times. Iowa was bailed out on a couple of great defensive possessions by getting late foul calls. Sure, if Georgia hadn't played so well, we wouldn't have been in the game. However, I believe that once teams finally respect Georgia coming off the high screens, it will open up space for Kitley to use her great footwork in the post and creates the ability for a kick out to King for a 3. I just hope LSU doesn't get the Clark treatment when we play them.

Record if Drones started game 1 against ODU?

Apologies if I missed previous comments about this as I am sure I did. But I am curious to know what the general feel is about Drones. He's progressing seemingly very well after being named starter. Each game he's looked more composed in the pocket, chooses good times to scramble, and seems to find the easy pass on most plays. I would say we would've beaten Purdue if Drones had started (especially if there wasn't a monsoon in the mountains of SOVA). I would also assume if he was given the starting job in the summer, gained confidence and experience up until Marshall that we would've won that too. Rutgers is a toss-up for me, I think we stay in that game for longer than we did but I'm not sure if I can say we'd win that. So do you think 6-2? 7-1? Same? Worse?

It's the culture of football games now for students

I blame them making North End Zone general admission to all students. Should've been left to upperclassmen only so that North is special. Now it's just over run with freshmen who only care about how much of their BORG they drank at center. To play devil's advocate though, up until maybe the Pitt game, there hasn't been much of a reason to stay at a home game for students since Notre Dame in 2021. The expectations every week are that VT Football will disappoint and if we go up or down by 14 in the first half, that's what usually sends half of the students home. I don't like that students leave but if the upper classmen that got stuck sitting in East want to go get a trash can at Hokie House and watch the rest of the game there, so be it.

Hot Take?: 7 Wins and a Bowl Win with Jennings back?

Even though it was ODU, we were shown that Ali Jennings can be a monster for us and I believe that he will remind us all of that if he returns with this deep ball offense. He's bigger than most DB's, he's got great hands, and his ability to get open in the red zone is tremendous. So is 7 wins and a bowl win bold? Am I overreacting to a first half against a bad Cuse team?

Current students aren't built the same

Under classmen go to center street, get too drunk, go to the game for Enter Sandman, then leave to go sleep in their dorm rooms. It's sad really.

Greatest first half I've seen in years!

No more running the ball on first down. We're throwing deep, opening up the defense, and executing on outside runs. It's beautiful to see it finally all come together. Not to mention we haven't seen our defense perform this well in... 3+ years? Fantastic play all around this half. Would've liked to see us execute better in the red zone but I'll never complain with 3 points. Playing smart, calculated, and motivated football right now. Can't believe it took 7 games to figure it all out.

Losing Mike Jones already causing problems for the Hokies

It's no secret the only reason we had Rodney Rice to begin with was through his connection with MJ. We will struggle recruiting DMV players while MJ is at Maryland and eventually hired at ODU. Not saying we won't thrive in the portal but... We're gonna be a transfer portal team under Mike Young which isn't the worst thing in the world but you have to wonder if it's sustainable given that I already have questions about the production we will get from our bigs this year. With Rice gone, can anyone inform me on what our rotations will look like this year? Haven't been following summer scrimmages too well.

Then let me ask you this, wise guy

What do you have to look forward to the rest of this season? Losing to Pitt by 21 at home next week?

Send us to CUSA

Best case we could win 6 games and go to the Bahamas Bowl to play Kent St!
