I don’t know if anyone from the university reads this board but I wanted to flag Taylor Ragland from Grafton in Yorktown VA as one to watch. A junior who is starting to get high D1 interest and is 6’1” with rankings as #3 in VA for Assists, #7 in blocks, #5 in double doubles, ##2 in FG made, #9 in points per game, #4 in steals per game, #14 in rebounds. Per Max Preps. Worth a look as she leads Grafton in Regional 3 state semifinals. I am not related to her but am a fan of her and my Hokies.

You are right. Duffy would be a really good get and would be able to communicate playing and winning at the highest level. I think that’s important. I like Smesko but I worry that our bigs would believe their role would be diminished and could transfer without giving him a chance. I like the Richmond coach also but I think getting another power conference coach sends a message that our program is worthy of that kind of move. Same way we impressed with Buzz. Leaving or not he changed the perception of MBB at Tech.

Lisa Boyer is the top assistant to Dawn Staley and has been a head coach in both college and WNBA and has been with Dawn Staley since 2008. She would bring instant credibility and she makes about $400K if my research is correct. I think she could keep or attract some players given the South Carolina pedigree.

This is correct. No one is cutting or going to help receive a pass. Easy to guard a stagnant player.

Assuming she’s a culture fit I think we would be crazy not to recruit. Yes we have stars and have done a great job in the portal but what hurt us was having quality depth when people had an off night or foul trouble. We can always more scoring options to keep folks from collapsing on Georgia or doubling Kitley in the paint. LSU was successful because they could throw quality depth at everyone and wear you down late in the game. They will be deep next year. I think you load up with good players that match our culture and have a strong 8-9 person rotation where everyone can contribute and folks can’t really double anyone without paying for it.

This team makes low percentage passes and forgets to play defense at times. They will run poor offensive sets and end up with late forced shots and show no hustle to loose balls. I would feel better if I just saw coach digging into them. Clearly the gentleman approach doesn’t work with this team.

Look I personally love the guy and his values but he still makes turnovers in tight situations that you dont want your super senior to make
