Sounds like your from my "era"....
and yes it's hard to accept how different things are now. But as the saying goes "you can't put the toothpaste back into the tube!"
NIL............and the money that comes with it............is now a part of the process. Yes, they may still love the school/team like they use to in our day, but not so much anymore without the money to go along with it.
Might as well get use to it!

The next step is the toughest….
Going from a good team to an elite team is a big step….and the hardest.
It will be interesting to see if softball can take the next step. It will take a commitment from the school/AD for more NIL money, and then the ability to sign the type of talent you need to compete with the best.
If not, this is about the best we can hope for.
Good season ladies; they were tough, played hard, and gave great effort all season long.
They deserve the support to take it to the next level.

Same story all year long, a vey good team but can’t
beat the elite….and that’s ok.
There is a ceiling to this team, we will see how far they get in the tournament.
They play hard and are in every game, and they do it the right way. They are a solid program and a credit to VT. Good luck in the tournament ladies!

Congrats to the women's softball team.....
I hope we win today, but honestly I'm fine either way. We've had a great season, not sure we have enough talent to match FSU but these ladies fight hard and represent VT the right way, which is all I ask for.

I think this game mirrored what we did all year…
Beat the avg and below avg teams, struggled at times with teams that were equal to us in ability and talent, and lost to the teams better than us.
Today was no different.
In women’s bball especially, you’re not going to upset teams if you don’t have the talent. The variance in talent for the women’s game is much greater than on the men’s side.
So with that it was a good year…if Duffy can get more talent we may win a game or two in the tournament, but we won’t until we do.

Quit commenting when posters post something negative, it’s not the end of the world and you don’t have to give a smart ass comment just because you don’t like what they said. Your not the poster police.
Just read it and move on, and keep your comments to yourself. Everyone has the right to post what they want. U don’t have to agree with it.
I see many posts I don’t agree with and I have NEVER attacked the writer. It’s their opinion. and it’s just as valid as mine.
And if you know a certain poster (like me) you don’t like don’t read their posts. Save yourself the aggravation!
You must have better things to do….maybe take a new picture or something!

Very disappointing results…..just when you wanna believe it’s back to reality.
I understand it’s a long season and it’s just one series, but Duke has exposed our weakness.
Was so hoping we’d be a top 5 team, this doesn’t help.

Hell, we get our best chance at a NC with our women’s bball team ever and we lose our star player before we can even get to the tournament.

I’m glad I have a follower that reads my posts!
I have posted HUNDREDS of posts over the years congratulating our teams….but I also call it like it is when we underperform, especially in football. And that’s a LOT lately.
You don’t have to like my posts but I challenge you to dispute them. I welcome the debate.

People on here have such a hard time admitting that.
We haven’t upset anybody highly ranked all year, no reason to think it’s going to change now with the same players.
But they will make the tournament, which will be a good building block for the program.
