You don't need to carry the entire state, just that area. And where Rutgers is located seems to fit into that media market. Here is a picture of the US Census Bureau map zoomed in on the tri-state region and a poorly doctored up and totally unofficial media "circle" around NYC with an ~70 mile radius. (Why 70 miles? I used to live in "upstate new york" even though we were only about 70 miles as the crow flies. TV and radio came out of NYC.) All those potential cable customers is why the B1G took Rutgers, at least in this humble poster's mind.

Home runs per game does greatly affect slugging percentage and scoring/runs per game, so no surprises there. Thanks for sharing, Chip!

Just saw something flash across the screen on ESPN2; haven't been able to confirm elsewhere.

Unless I'm mistaken, of course, with a foul ball, the ball is out of play so it only counts as a strike (if there are fewer than two strikes at the time it was hit) if the ball is dropped/missed/muffed.

And have to say I'm enjoying the announcers, which seems to be more of the norm than the exception for each game I've caught on TV or streaming this year. They do a good job of talking about the players, the plays, and throwing in some stats without overdoing anything.
