Posting History (18)

NCAA needs to have an age limit. If he were a 25 year old D lineman and

blew up a 18 year old running back and ended the young man's career then they might finally act. Move on with your life son

I would be totally fine with Franklin, but not at an exorbitant salary. If

there are not deferrals or a smaller salary then he is shooting himself in the foot by not freeing up more money for players at VT while he is already getting paid an exorbitant amount by Ped State. If we give him a big salary, we are bailing out Ped State and making it harder for our athletic department to have the extra resources we need.

I wasn’t trying to board shame but it jackasses like you and him that keep

People off these boards so just keep trolling ** Edited by RichCat at 9/29/2025, 4:16:26 PM

I said nothing about validity, that is you stirring the pot. I don't care

if you donate or not, that is your prerogative. But to harp on the issue of kids paying an extra hundred and fitty extra bucks to support football isn't really productive

Yeah he has been stirring the pot ever since he declared he is not donating

anymore. For someone who shares that he is no longer supporting the program, he sure has strong opinions

You may be reading too much into this hire. Montgomery was probably glad to

get back into college after being in the USFL. Plus, he has the head coaching credentials to take over VT as an interim should something happen to Pry. I would love to have a stable ship at VT, but the reality is Pry has done nothing to warrant any assurances into the future. Just my opinion

Respectfully disagree. I think most fans would be more ok with a ticket

price hike if they felt it was going to contribute to the talent on the field that they are there to see. And being ranked in the top 10 the fans are less disgruntled and more willing to digest a slight bump in expenses. I think it's actually brilliant marketing and timing and I bet VT fans would be ok with this if we were a top 25 program scratching to keep up.

Please tell me if I am way off or if there is something that would prevent

this, but here is an idea. ACC tells ESPN we want a new deal in the ballpark of SEC & BIG (not same but competitive) or... We gather remnants of the PAC, B12 and ACC and create a really big national league. By adding/subtracting teams, it is possible to get out of the ESPN contract all together (to my understanding) and then you market yourself to someone with lots of $$$, like Amazon or Apple who want to get into the sports world, as a national league (all time zones and markets) and the streamers can have games all day long on multiple days with so many teams and time zones. I would think they might be willing to pony up SEC and BIG money to get into the game and have a lot of inventory to do so. Is this impossible to do or just requires too much imagination and organization that the ACC has shown no ability to do? Thanks
