If it is important enough to you, you will find a way. If it is not, you will find an excuse.
Never deny a person the consequences of their actions.

As a small business owner for 6 years, I have learned a couple of things...
It's okay to say "no" and it's okay to price yourself out of the job.
That said, I rarely just say "no" and walk away. As someone else posted, help the client find their "yes". It helps them solve their problem and hopefully the client will come back to you one day for something else or the referral partner will send something back your way.

Glad I'm not alone. I still hate this man, almost 30 years later...
I "enjoyed" my first 2 years at VT immensely and my grades reflected the fun I was having. This delayed me getting into an actual degree-granting engineering program. Crittenden, as my 2nd General Engineering advisor (first one, Ledoux, retired) had me convinced that I was not cut out for a rigorous engineering program like VT. He went so far as to write a recommendation for me to transfer to a community college back home.
For some reason that I don't remember now, I didn't follow through and kept pushing at VT. As a 3rd year GE student, I started taking ISE classes. At some point, "someone for General Engineering" contacted the Dept Head for ISE and asked why they were letting a 3rd year GE student take their classes. The Dept Head went to the ISE advisor and asked her why they were letting me take their classes. Her response was "If we don't let him take classes, who will?"
I powered through an earned my ISE degree in 5 years. To this day, it amazes me that he actively tried to sabotage my college experience on multiple occasions.
