Posting History (491)

There are teams representing more than one state

In the NFL and they made it work. Also pro teams hire tons of support staff: janitors, secretaries whatever and they aren’t covered by the CBA.

The players would make up one side and hire their union rep and

The Schools would be on the other side with their selected Rep. It wouldn’t be unilateral.

Security of knowing you have

Money coming in for 3+ years. Same reason people sign long term deals in the NFL.

What if the ACC came up with their own plan?

They have a CBA and all the stuff the pros have and agree on a sustainable salary cap. That way we could sign guys to contracts for 3, 4, 5 years, maybe even have out clauses where guys could bolt to the P2 with compensation (sort of like how supplemental draft picks are compensation for teams losing FAs in the NFL) It would be less money then the P2 but more security which will appeal to a lot of recruits. Take Delane to LSU for example. He may be promised a big fat NIL check, but if he gets injured before the season does he get any of it?? What if he never starts or gets benched? The ACC needs to come up with an alternate plan to keep our schools relevant.

Good job by the defense

Struggled in the first half but held them to 3 in the 2nd half. Those young dbs will be good but they need to improve their ball skills!

You gotta throw the ball away

Stop trying to make plays with your feet when it is not there

How does running up the score

In a meaningless bowl game help prove they belong in the cfp?

But we did use a timeout

You are saying he has to tell the refs again after the review? it seems like that wouldn’t even be a question, I like Pry but if he really just got confused about something so simple that is worrisome. I also would have hoped one of the other coaches would have come over and helped their boss out from making such an embarrassing mistake.

How do the refs get off the hook?

Get mad at Pry all you want for not getting more upset but that doesn’t excuse the refs for not knowing the rules

If the refs admit to forgetting a timeout

and incorrectly running 10 seconds off the clock I feel like the ACC should man up and at least apologize. It doesn’t make a difference but that was a blatant screw up, it is weird to me that it was just ignored.

Cuse - VT end of 1st half explanation

Did the ACC ever explain or apologize for the refs at the end of the 1st half in this game. To recap, after a big gain, Sclee called TO w/12 seconds left (VTs 2nd) the refs reviewed the call and his knee was down in backfield with 17 seconds left. They then did a 10 second run off to 7 seconds. First of all is the 10 second runoff even a thing in this situation? And if it is why would a team be penalized for the refs blowing a call? Did the ACC ever address this after the game?

Pry will hire the dc

The fact that you would want the AD or anyone else for that matter to make the call is nonsensical.

Did u see improvement from Drones?

He was the key to the season and he took a step backwards this year

I want to nflize college football

The current system sucks. These guys should just sign contracts, so everything is transparent instead of this shadowy nil bs Whatever distinction there used to be between college and the pros is gone

It would be better

If they just signed a contract. A lot of times guys are promised x amount of $$ and then the collective reneges and kids end up leaving in the middle of the season searching for another payday. It happened with a few guys at UCF this year. I think across the board this is a bad system and for me any way for the first time in over 25 years I like pro better than college football.

Seems like a bizarre hire to me

Especially because they just fired a guy who was way past his prime and we all saw how that turned out.

Would you rather lose

By a larger margin? Yeah 6-6 is disappointing but it also shows that there is a thin line between winning and losing. Maybe next year we will win a bunch of those close games. I agree though that his clock management skills need work.

It would be better

If it was just minor league pro football that limit eligibility to 4 years. Everyone signs a contract for a specified number of years. That way you knew who is a free agent and who is on the open market. It would make for a more stable product. Whatever this is, ain’t working for me. It is hard to stay interested when you have no idea what to expect year to year. It is sort of like what happened to college bball with the one and doners I watch the tourney but that is pretty much it.

I don’t think that will work out

Bellicheck is washed and I can’t see him recruiting hs kids

I just want to see a vt starting qb improve from one yr to the next

Pop doesn’t really count because he started one game but from the Fuente era to now all the starting qbs don’t seem to get any better and in many cases get worse the longer they are here. Some of the Beamer years too, I remember Logan looked like a first round draft pick his sophomore year.

Last year I thought it was unfair

A p5 team going undefeated winning their conf etc and being left out wasn’t right. I mean they did everything they could do. But choosing Bama over Miami isn’t a big deal. Losing to the cuse last week was pretty weak and is the last thing voters will remember..

Is it just an intensity thing

Do these guys just get lazy and stop playing hard. This seems to happen every game
