The Navy has been having a very bad time lately.
I get a very strong impression from their various mishaps that core job competence is lacking across the service and that many people have been promoted beyond their level of capability.

Snoop comes from a different era of rap...back when it was legit gangster.
The gangster rappers like Snoop, IceT, Dre, etc built the entire industry, mostly by surviving the very real street wars that went along with it. Dude was a card carrying Crip, his rhymes reflected that and earned him major support from that culture. The public feuds between East and West coast rappers and the media coverage helped expand the market recognition of everyone who survived. Over the years he applied the smarts that made him a successful drug dealer (prior to rap and perhaps during) to expanding his brand. He is a legit businessman and public personality now, music is more of a side game for him these days.

Where is "here"? I might know some wedding venues to throw in the mix :P
JK, I wouldn't do that to you at this point!

I probably would have sold some along the way to diversify.
Also would have been looking at profit taking to manage capital gains taxes in lower income years. I know WAY more about investing now than I did 14 years ago. I grew up before the Retail investing apps were a thing so no one I knew owned anything but mutual funds purchased through a brokerage/insurance agency. I'm still holding a low seven figure portfolio so I made out alright in the long run but this is the biggest "miss" I've had since I first opened a Scottrade account in 2007 (other than not letting a dude pay me $20 in bitcoin for a CD while I was in college).

Let me tell you how I missed out on being a NVDA millionaire...
I owned 200 shares of NVDA in 2011 that I bought at $8.50 a share. I sold it with some other shares to finance my house closing costs that year. NVDA split 4-1 in 2021 (200 becomes 800), then split 10-1 in 2024 (800 becomes 8,000). Those 200 shares I sold would be worth $1,365,600 today at close, my house is worth $230,000. Buy and hold, never sell unless you absolutely have to.

Combo of factors.
Weather=several of the teams that lost haven't played in sub-freezing weather before.
Location=the home field advantage is real and it impacted the visiting teams in major ways.
Talent=ND has a 68% blue chip ratio, Indiana is less than 5%. Stars matter.
Experience=A lot of the coaches and players on the winning teams are used to playing "big games" in front of the entire country. That means less performance anxiety and better decision making.
QB play=Jefferson pretty much singlehandedly lost the game for SMU in the first quarter, Leonard is better than Rourke, Howard is way better than Lamaleava, Klubnick actually matched up to Ewers well.

Now you understand why promising young people "free stuff" is so powerful..
Outside of kids who have taken a bunch of finance classes or grew up poor as dirt, huge amounts of college kids have no idea where their lifestyle comes from, how it is paid for or what they will need in order to keep it once their parents aren't paying.

3 years ago air fare to take the kids to grandma was $2400 for 4 people.
Pricing it for this year and the LOWEST I can get it to is $4700 for the exact same trip. 3 years ago we spent about $300 a week for groceries, now it is over $500 for the same amount of food. Workwise I do a lot of purchasing in my career and our base item costs have gone up 30-40% over the last two years across the board. Costs everywhere are shooting up faster than wages by an absurd amount and it isn't just because of "corporate greed" since margins are still mostly the same in many industries.

NVDA will always be my "white whale" that got away.
Back in 2008 I had 200 shares of NVDA that I bought for something around $8.50 per. I sold it all in 2010 to finance the down payment on my house. Those 200 shares would have been 800 shares today...at $857 each. The shares I sold to make a $3k down payment on my house would now be worth something around $685,000 if I had held. Hindsight can be a PITA sometimes.

Graded copies of that comic start breaking $1k at the 6.0 (Fine) mark.
A Near Mint/Mint 9.8 goes for over $21k.

Kenny wants WBB to be a game of finesse and skill...
The PTB want it to be a copy of the WNBA. Hence the terrible officiating and letting overly aggressive players bodycheck people all over the court. Guess who is gunna win the argument despite the fact that the viewers want to see girls dropping 3 pointers?

Do dorms at VT not have controlled access?
How does some dude just move in to a girl's dorm room and no one notice or care?

FB gets almost all the NIL to try and entice the SEC or B1G.
The lion's share of what goes elsewhere is going to WBB atm due to how they are performing. Very little left over for MBB, definitely not enough to entice top recruits or transfers.

Usher didn't really sing much, just danced. Too old to do both now lol.
Was pretty boring until Alisha Keys came out. At least then they actually sang. Luda and Little John were good, they brought some actual energy to the show.

I'm sorry but I have seen some Halftime shows that were legendary.
Michael? Prince in the rain? U2 after 9/11? Heck, last years show was amazing for anyone who spent their 20's clubbing in the late 90's early 00's.

I turned it off the second he took off his helmet and haven't watched since
Everything I have heard about the show since then has justified my decision. Just like RoP and WoT, that show is an abomination to the franchise and the showrunners should be beaten.
(In fairness to the fans, if they had made the show about ANY other Spartan it probably would have been decent TV.)

I say I can get him a job tomorrow paying $65k.
In 4-5 years he will easily be clearing 6 figures and have zero student loan debt.

No because everyone knows that isn't the actual precedent.
The actual precedent is "The SEC shall always be allowed to compete in the playoffs no matter what", any non-P2 conference champion is subject to be bumped to make room. If UGA had won the SEC, FSU would be in the playoffs.
Football Board

The only way for FSU to hurt ESPN/FOX would be to...not play the game.
Make the broadcasters have to cancel and refund all the pre-sold ad revenue. Otherwise, the TV money that forced this travesty to occur wins, regardless of who wins the actual game.

UF defenders were straight up headhunting on that one.
The QB was sliding and they had plenty of time to recognize that.

They have been competitive in every game except one.
Pretty impressive for a team that had 1 win last year, a bad Oline and a barely functional Dline. Colorado has the skill players to hang with anybody, when Prime gets them a functional Oline and Dline they will be very good.

Been around for a while.
Our local place has had them since they opened. Massive timesaver for customers AND staff considering how busy they are every time I go pick up on pizza night.

They will have an Onlyfans someday...just like that LSU gymnast.
The lifecycle for a female social media personality tends to be pretty straightforward as they slowly build a following, then get older/less relevant, lose followers, get more extreme and risque trying to regain their status. It would probably be a pretty good subject for an academic paper.

There is a major difference between the Shuttle and the Dragon...
The crew was expected to actually fly the shuttle and be able to diagnose/repair any failures in real time. The Crew Dragon is automated and the Crew isn't expected to do anything but be cargo.

Fukishima was the direct result of politics overriding safety.
The Japanese put the backup generators in the basement because the locals complained that they were too loud and an eyesore on the roof where the engineers originally intended them to be. Basement flooded, generators couldn't run to provide backup power for the cooling units=meltdown. If they were on the roof like the design called for it never would have happened.

That would be considered stock manipulation and it is 100% illegal...
The SEC exists to watch for stuff like that...they are just very bad at it.

Broadcast rights and streaming rights are two different things.
CBS has the broadcast rights, Amazon has the streaming rights. Which is why you can't watch Frosty on Paramount+ either despite it being a CBS owned title.

I am guessing that the tour really took a lot out of him which is to be expected at his age.

It's not like NASA isn't one of the only gov agencies doing anything useful
They have provided us with numerous technologies now considered commonplace, pushed the boundaries of human knowledge and given children all over the world something to dream about...and there is the whole business of humanity having to get off this rock in order to survive long term...but hey, you keep complaining about their tiny 29billion budget.

My first ever security job was at Colonial Downs back in 1999.
Good gig but the drive from Gloucester was long. Got to see behind all the curtains, walk the stables, sing songs in Spanish with the grooms (none of whom had legit US ID) and check out all the upper tier suites. Pretty cool gig and they had digital fingerprinting for staff long before any of the local LE agencies could afford it.

VT didn't win the conference. No such thing as "regular season champion".
The team smoked the regular season and then faceplanted in the conference championship tourney. Just the facts.

It has been brought up before several times...
This time the Mouse made the government mad enough that their paid off politicians can't protect them.
