With a new AD, is GTβs b-ball coach far behind the football coach?

On trophyβs: I think the simpler, the better. Iβll just
throw a few out there that I like and dislike.
Things simple like Paul Bunyanβs ax, the old oaken bucket I like. Things like fancy plaques of maps, fancy trophies and statues not so much. Iβm really not a hater of any, though.
Some are just a little too boring. Sorry but I think the Commonwealth Cup falls into this category. Maybe we can ding it up a little more and make it tough.
How about this in addition to a trophy, each school can make its own βheirloomβ and the victor keeps it until next year.

Looks to me like the Big Ten has the 2 poorest football states
New Jersey and Illinois.
You might even throw in California (soon to be a Big 10 state) as 3rd poorest. I donβt think the big 4 in California have been hitting on much lately.
But Iβm told that money heals all and USC will be winning championships immediately with their brand new shiny hot-shot coach.

Your post is actually interesting. Thanks for the brief break
from realignment talk which has become pretty boring lately with no one knowing much right now. Maybe we need a history board?
But I still like the realignment speculation. Keep up the good work everyone on the best message board in college sports.

I donβt know about all this realignment business, but your SEC East
would be quite the basketball conference. Presently and historically.

I lived near Knoxville for 10 years. Believe me Tennessee fans
have a lot more respect for Virginia Tech than for UVa. Most of my coworkers were Tennessee alums or fans. They are not elitist and had a lot of respect for VT academics and considered us a basketball school. This changed somewhat with our sugar bowl win over Texas.
But forgetting money and culture, I look at who brings the most βSEC style excitementβ to football as being the best fit for SEC. Those schools in my opinion are Virginia Tech, Clemson, NC State, West Virginia and Florida State. Exciting football is what made the SEC what it is and that brings eyeballs to the televised games.
