I was reading a reddit thread and was curious which teams VT beat who became FBS conference champions the year they played. Besides VT beating Marshall (Sun Belt 2024) I can only think of Ohio State (Big 10 2014). Did VT beat any other teams? ** Edited by CapitolHillHokie at 2/27/2026, 7:16:40 AM

Wish Beamer had adjusted his view to that especially after Bustle left as OC. Should have replaced him with a better OC than Stinespring.

Interestingly, they averaged probably close to 40 points per game and ranked if I recall top 5 when we played for the national championship.

Hi All, I will be in town and will be in Bethesda. I have not been to a bar to watch the Hokies play for some time. Where can I go to take my 14 yr old son to watch the game with me and be with other Hokies. Am willing to go to NoVA to watch but am Ok if there are any DC or MD venues. I know there used to be Hokie gatherings in Crystal City, Shirlington and Clarendon but not sure what the scene is like these days.

Will OSU be able to protect the rim or those backdoor cuts where USC can easily take it to the hole?

Any Hokie gatherings to watch the Lady Hokies play ball? I live in Hampton and am looking to join other Hokies on the Peninsula or across the bridge in Norfolk/Va Beach.

Are there any local NOVA/DC bars where Hokies gather to watch the the women basketball games like we do for football? I'll be up in DC periodically and would like to join other Hokies to watch the game while I'm in town.

when they beat us in Lane Stadium in 1984. Wahoos ran into the field and stole the flag from the cheerleaders. Cadets ran into the field to take back the flag. There was a big melee between the Cadets and the Wahoos. The Marching Virginians played the National Anthem to calm the down the fans. The sprinklers were turned on to disperse the mob in the field.

Any recommendations where Hokies gather in Hampton Roads? Any on the peninsula or Norfolk/Va Beach?
