Franklin will put in his second string with clear orders to run his offense. He wants them to play meaningful minutes and get better.

He believes that when the 2nd and 3rd team are in they should run the plays like the first string. Backups need to play meaningful minutes for their own benefit and the development of the team. He also recognizes that polls look at the margin of victory.

James may run up the score to influence the polls. However, he has said repeatedly that he is going to run their offense with the second and third string because it is good for the team that they get the experience. I’m happy to see the younger kids play and can’t disagree with his reasoning.
