The half. We called timeout with 25 secs left rather than 2. That led to the second stupid decision the squib.

Harbaugh designed fake that went to the TE running wide open down the middle for a TD. Our LB threw his mouth piece at him. Sadly that apparently was the good ole days.

Forward to seeing the VT-Vandy score up there on the site for the next week. I have close friends that went to Vandy that aren't even aware that Vandy played a football game this weekend. 75% of the stadium today was VT including my family. To say that result was disappointing would be a huge understatement. Sadly, it will be a minute before I consider trying to get to another VT game.

Game Vandy has come from behind trailing by 7 in the 4th in their last 40 games. Glad that I chose this game as the first one to ease my 13 and 10 year olds into hokie football. My wife went to UGA law so we’ve taken them to a couple of UGA games. They told me after the game we should stick to going to UGA games 😭

Are Hokies that traveled to support the Hokies. Hopefully second half improves but the first half set such a low bar would be hard not too. Picked a bad game to bring the whole fam to a game to show them how hokie football does. Or maybe it was the perfect game to expose to hokie disappointment.

Woof. Seems more and more like I witnessed the pinnacle of VT football while at VT from 1996-2001. I remember asking my buddy at the national championship game in 2000 if we would be back there again. Not looking great for that to ever happen again. Wasn’t familiar with Pry when he was hired but hoping he is forced to change some coaches over the off-season and maybe that can make a difference. The thing that kills me most is not being in any way excited to watch VT play now. No excitement on O or D. Sad.

3 pt shot with 7 secs left. I thought very questionable call. Northwestern guy hits all 3 foul shots (looked like he was trying to intentionally miss the 3rd). Then they decide not to foul on the inbound so UCLA wins by 5. I only do small bets to keep it interesting (this was $5) but man I hit on about 10% of my college bets. 🤮

This year and apparent today too…Basile as a 6’9” guy gets 1 rebound tonight. Understand he was in foul trouble but he only averaged 5 this year. A lot of rebounding is want to but at 6’9” you’d think you’d be near the basket enough to luck into 8 rebs a game. Now you have to play good enough defense for the other team to miss more often than not so there is that. 🤔

For the guy though. Regardless of where his career goes that is what he is going to be know for - the terrible personal foul that resulted in the easy field goal. Where does he go from here and how does he recover. I’m legit concerned he may not recover from it.

Going all that well and the team doesn’t seem to be getting any better this year. If anything they appear to be regressing and the coaching seems really poor. 10 false starts in a game with 7 coming in the first half. And that after 11 days off. I have more optimism for my Washington Commies. Dark days indeed.
