I coached Travel Ball for 8 years and don't claim to be a softball genius, however if I had a dollar for every time I mis-judged my opponent, environment or mental mood of the team and my pitchers, I'd be a wealthy man. That's why you can run rule an opponent one morning and take one on the chin from that same team that very afternoon!! Been there and done that! There are also times, that I'm making calls from my living room recliner and more times than not, my calls where not as appropriate as Coach Pete's. We all want to be right, we all want to win, but it just doesn't happen every game, every day! CONGRATS ON A GREAT YEAR! VERY SAD TO SEE IT END! GO HOKIES!

To tier 2 engineering… Once it freezes I fast forward for about 2 seconds and then hit play….it goes to the Commercial Break screen until the game resumes…..still a pain in the arzzzee but it eliminates rebooting espn from the start.

I don't claim to be a "world class softball coach", however, I was a head coach for eight years, the majority of which was for an (in-state) elite travel team. And yes my daughter pitched and played on the team. I'll be the first one to admit that the parents as well as the fans can be "over the top"! I don't want to be one of those, but I can't help but vent and at this point, I qualify as a fan and an alumnus of Virginia Tech. With that being said; the weather was awful, so you adjust, you out-coach and you play with a wet ball (protecting and replacing it at nauseum). Some pitchers "cannot" throw a wet and dirty ball, so swap within the framework of the rules at nauseum as well. That was Pete's worst coached game at Virginia Tech......period, I'll stop, because I post infrequently and my keyboard is on fire! Bottomline, both teams were robbed by the weather, we were robbed by the weather as well as by our coaches! Hope the ladies get to host, as they absolutely, positively deserve it! Disclaimer: Maybe the staff already knew that we're hosting, if so the coaching might get a "get out-ta jail free card" (and i say that with great hesitation), because I doubt any hosting sites have been determined yet. Go Hokies!

Like I said: it can be situational but not only freezes action (once ball is in the pitchers glove, in the circle), but never allows for the ball to be in the air. It's also not practical in certain situations and ability levels.
