When a player like Ellis enters the portal… - Does he still keep any or all of NIL money that he was paid? - Since he is entering the portal and is not now on the roster, is his scholarship still good for the spring or does he just drop out assuming he doesn’t yet have an offer elsewhere - I assume he must have to complete the fall semester to remain in good standing academically to be able to be accepted elsewhere. - Would it have made a difference if he declared to red shirt without entering the portal and then entered the portal in January. The portal and NIL is a mess with many twists and turns that are hard to follow. Not sure how intelligent decisions can be made.
