Mississippi Delta Community College (Moorehead, MS) offensive tackle Demetri Moore has signed an official grant-in-aid with Virginia Tech, Virginia Tech football announced last night. Moore becomes the eighth mid-year enrollee announced by Tech, joining fellow junior college prospect Jerod Evans (QB) and high school recruits Joshua Jackson (QB), Divine Deablo (WR), Sam Denmark (WR), Eric Kumah (WR), Jimmie Taylor IV (DE) and Khalil Ladler (CB).

The 6'6", 290-pound Moore, a Huffman High School (Birmingham AL) product who played two seasons at Mississippi Delta, will have two years of eligibility remaining at Virginia Tech. He'll join an offensive line group that currently projects to have 20 scholarship players next season, although would-be 5th-year seniors Alston Smith and Jack Willenbrock may not return.

Rivals.com ranks Moore as a 3-star recruit, while 247Sports ranks him as a 2-star. In its ranking of the Top 100 junior college prospects in the nation this preseason, Rivals ranked Moore no. 26.

Moore chose the Hokies after making an official visit to Blacksburg this past weekend. He visited Auburn and Georgia officially as well during the month of November, and he also considered offers from Cincinnati, Mississippi State and South Florida.
