"First I would like to thank God for giving me this opportunity to play football on the next level. I would like to thank all the coaches who still recruited me even with my season ending injury. Thanks for all the people that have supported me through out this whole process. This has been one of the hardest decisions I have made in my life but I have decided to take my talents for the next 3-4 years to Virginia Tech. #VT #GoHokies," Ladler wrote in a tweet. Numerous ACC and SEC schools - Florida State, Georgia, LSU and Miami are some - offered the 5'10", 170-pound Ladler, a Georgia native who transferred to IMG Academy after his junior year. Unfortunately, he suffered a torn ACL this past summer and is out for the year.
Virginia Tech was Ladler's first official visit destination. The Hokies now boast 17 verbal commits in the class of 2016. Ladler, Troy Pride Jr. and Myles Wolfolk are projected cornerbacks.
