For the seventh time in school history, ESPN's "College GameDay" will visit Blacksburg for a Virginia Tech football game. After opening the season in Fort Worth, TX for Alabama-Wisconsin, the crew will head to Tech for the VT-Ohio State game on Monday night, September 7.

The new ESPN GameDay crew -- Rece Davis, Desmond Howard, and David Pollack -- per this ESPN Media Zone press release, will "make an additional stop in Blacksburg, Va., for College Football Countdown on Monday, Sept. 7, in advance of a special edition of ESPN College Football presented by Capital One telecast featuring Virginia Tech vs. defending National Champions and No. 1 Ohio State at 8 p.m. The trio will be onsite for pre-game, halftime and post-game reporting, beginning at 7 p.m."
So, while it isn't the traditional ESPN GameDay appearance that VT fans are familiar with, the same crew will be broadcasting from Blacksburg, starting about an hour before the Ohio State game.

In the past, we've seen GameDay set up in Lane Stadium, under the Torgersen Bridge, and across from Lane Stadium on the Lacrosse/Soccer practice fields. As of now, there is no word where the show will set up for the Ohio State game.
