In need of some good news, the Virginia Tech football program appears to have gotten some. Defensive tackle prospect Tim Settle, one of Virginia Tech's top recruits in the class of 2015, tweeted this afternoon that he is "Officially a HOKIE" and expects to enroll in Blacksburg in August.

This news comes after a rough week last week, in which we learned that projected starter C.J. Reavis is not enrolled in school and 4-star class of 2016 prospect Wayne Davis committed to Ohio State over Virginia Tech and Michigan.

Settle signed with Virginia Tech this past February. While the signing was good news, it was also known that there was serious question whether or not the talented prospect would be able to gain admission to Tech this year. He graduated from Stonewall Jackson (Manassas, VA) in June, but further classwork was necessary.

Assuming his information is correct, Settle has done what he needed to do to make it to Tech this summer.

ESPN ranks the 6'3", 315-pound Settle as a 5-star recruit, while 247Sports, Rivals and Scout.com have him as a 4-star. The Under Armour All-American racked up 72 tackles including 25 tackles for loss his senior season.

With Settle in the fold, Virginia Tech's 2015 season defensive tackle depth chart now looks like this:

Seniors: Luther Maddy, Corey Marshall

Junior: Woody Baron, Nigel Williams

Sophomore: Ricky Walker

Red-shirt Freshmen: Vinny Mihota (potential DE), Steve Sobczak

Freshmen: Harry Lewis, Tim Settle

In addition to Settle, Ocean Lakes (Virginia Beach, VA) graduate and free safety prospect Jahque Alleyne is also expected to enroll at Virginia Tech next month.
