The 2015 NFL Draft is in the rear view mirror. Rover Kyshoen Jarrett is headed to the Redskins, while offensive tackle Laurence Gibson will be a Dallas Cowboy.
OXVT was well-prepared for the draft, and spent a busy weekend coming up with new infographics.
How many Virginia Tech players have been drafted in the Beamer Bowl Era? The answer is 82. Though Tech's 2015 draft class wasn't large, it kept the 22 year draft streak alive.
Of those 82 draft picks, 23 have been defensive backs. There's a reason Virginia Tech is called "DBU." This is one of those reasons.
Nine of those 23 defensive backs have been selected under the watch of Torrian Gray, who has proven to be one of the best defensive backs in the country. Gray himself was drafted back in 1997 by the Vikings.
Gray will obviously get his 10th defensive back selected when Kendall Fuller is drafted. With the way Chuck Clark played this spring, he's looking like a good bet to be #11.
Kyshoen Jarrett (6th round) and Laurence Gibson (7th round) were selected in the late rounds. That doesn't automatically mean that they won't have a good pro career, as the following infographic shows.
Virginia Tech has had some very successful players taken in the later rounds. Of the six players OXVT highlighted, two are still in the NFL...
