Salem (VA) offensive lineman Zachariah Hoyt signed a letter of intent with Virginia Tech today, choosing the Hokies over offers from BYU and ACC-rival Pittsburgh. The 6'3", 275-pound senior visited all three schools in the weeks before National Signing Day.

Hoyt becomes the second Salem Spartan to sign with Virginia Tech's football program in the class of 2015, joining running back/wide receiver Coleman Fox. The duo helped Salem to an undefeated regular season and an appearance in the 2014 4A state championship game. Fox plans to enroll at Tech this coming summer while the initial plan for Hoyt is for him to delay enrollment until January of 2016.

Virginia Tech announced the signing of five offensive linemen in this class. In addition to Hoyt, there is 4-star Austin Clark, Mike Arnold, D'Andre Plantin and Tyrell Smith. Clark, who graduated from Rockbridge County High School (Lexington, VA) this past December, and Smith, a postgraduate who originally signed with Tech in February of 2014, enrolled at Tech last month.
