Norcross (GA) senior D'Andre Plantin, an offensive tackle/defensive tackle prospect, revealed on Twitter this evening that he has accepted a football scholarship from Virginia Tech.

Virginia Tech has now received two line commits within a 4-day span. Four-star offensive tackle Austin Clark switched his pledge from South Carolina to the Hokies this past Sunday, and then Plantin committed tonight. While Clark is certain to play on the offensive line, the 6'5", 270-pound Plantin could potentially play on either side of the line in college (Plantin senior highlights are below, with left tackle highlights on top and defensive tackle highlights on the bottom).

The Norcross standout gives Tech 18 commitments overall in the class of 2015. (Note: This number does not include 2014 signees Xavier Burke (TE) and Tyrell Smith (OL), who are doing postgraduate work with hopes of enrolling in Blacksburg this coming January.) Plantin would be the fourth offensive line commit if he does end up on offense. If defensive tackle is his future, he would give Tech three defensive tackles in this class.

Plantin, who helped Norcross to state titles in 2012 and 2013, lined up at defensive tackle in the 2013 Georgia Elite Junior Classic, receiving the following praise following the game.

The state champion defensive tackle is as athletically gifted as you will find at the tackle position. At 6-foot-3, 277-pounds Plantin is already a monster and can still add plenty of size to his frame. In the Elite Junior Classic Plantin did a great job of dictating the line of scrimmage and forcing the South running backs into the grasp of the talented linebackers behind him. Playing on such an aggressive defensive front this season at Norcross translated into the Elite Junior Classic and Plantin was able to take down the speedy South ball carriers before they could do any damage.

Plantin reportedly considered offers/interest from Illinois and Virginia, among others, as well before tonight's pledge.
