East Lake (Tarpon Springs, FL) linebacker Carson Lydon has verbally committed to Virginia Tech. The 6'1", 230-pound rising senior announced his decision on Twitter earlier this evening.

With Lydon in the fold, Virginia Tech now boasts five players in its 2015 Class. All five players - Lydon, Harry Lewis (DT), Eric Whitehead (DT), DuWayne Johnson (CB) and Mook Reynolds (DB) - are projected to play on the defensive side of the ball.
Boston College, Illinois, NC State, South Florida, Syracuse, Wake Forest and Wisconsin are among the other schools that have offered Lydon, who is rated a 3-star recruit by 247Sports.com. The standout linebacker turned in an outstanding junior season, amassing 159 tackles with 22 tackles for loss and 12 sacks. He forced four fumbles and had three interceptions as well.
