Just before the start of its 2013 home finale against Maryland, the Virginia Tech football program scored its first verbal commitment in the class of 2015. Marcus Lewis , a 6'2", 190-pound wide receiver/defensive back out of Gonzaga College High School (Washington, D.C.), tweeted the news just before this afternoon's kick-off.
"IM COMMITTED TO THE UNIVERSITY OF VIRGINIA TECH! #BlessedToBeAHokie#DBU#Hokies!"
Lewis was in Blacksburg today on an unofficial visit along with fellow Gonzaga juniors Nick Johns (QB) and Richie Petitbon (OL). All three of these players boast at least one major FBS scholarship offer. Virginia Tech had offered Lewis a scholarship prior to his arrival today, and he also received offers from Clemson, Maryland and Ohio State, among others.
