The 2016 matchup with Tennessee at Bristol Motor Speedway became official on Monday morning at a press conference at the track.  The Hokies and Vols will meet on September 10, 2016.

Very few details about the game emerged at Monday's press conference.  A promotional video was released, which you can view below.

There will be approximately 150,000 tickets for sale to the game.  The track seats 160,000 for racing events.

The record attendance for a college football game is 115,109 at this year's Notre Dame-Michigan game, which was played in Ann Arbor.  If the Tech-Tennessee game sells out, it will easily break that record.

Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed on Monday.  However, the strong rumor is that both teams are guaranteed $4 million, with an extra $500,000 possible if they each sell their allotment of 40,000 tickets.

2016 is setting up to be a great schedule.  The Hokies will play Tennessee in Bristol, and they'll also face Notre Dame in South Bend.  Miami, Georgia Tech and UVA are the headlining games on the home schedule that season.
