Harrison Dominates NCAA Championships

Virginia Tech track & field star Queen Harrison became the first woman to
win the National Championship in both the 400m and 100m hurdles over the
weekend. She led a women's track & field team that finished fifth
nationally, while the men's team finished 10th.

Harrison won the 400m hurdles on Friday night, posting a time of 54.55
seconds, which was a school record. She followed that up on Saturday by taking
home the 100m hurdle championship with a time of 12.67 seconds. It was the first
time in NCAA history that one woman has capture the championship in both events.

With the two wins over the weekend, Harrison has now captured three national championships this year. She also won the 60m hurdles during the Indoor season.

Harrison wasn't the only Tech track & field performer to have a good
weekend. Senior Kristi Castlin finished fourth in the 100m hurdles with a time of 13 seconds flat. She collected All-American honors for the seventh time as a result, and that number sets a new Virginia Tech record.
