Virginia Tech head coach Justin Fuente announced on Thursday that nickelback Deon Newsome will wear No. 25 on Saturday vs. Old Dominion.

This is the first time Newsome will wear No. 25 in his career. Newsome, a redshirt-senior, has played in 33 career games but has made zero starts. Newsome serves as the No. 2 nickelback/whip linebacker behind Mook Reynolds.
Newsome joins linebacker Anthony Shegog, long snapper Colton Taylor and cornerback Greg Stroman as the Hokies to wear No. 25 this season.
