DeJuan Ellis told TechSideline.com last weekend that he was firm in his commitment to Virginia Tech, but things have changed. On Tuesday, Ellis announced on Twitter that he was reopening his recruitment.

Virginia Tech had recruited the 5-foot-11, 160-pound Ellis to play quarterback, but now that Ellis considers himself an athlete, interest is sure to pour in from other schools. Ellis, who's considered a 3-star recruit by Rivals, won the Fastest Man competition at the Nike: The Opening regional outside of Washington D.C., running a 4.47 second 40-yard-dash time.
Ellis originally committed to the Hokies in August 2016, and currently has eight scholarship offers, but that number will likely rise. Ellis did mention that Virginia Tech is still one of his top schools, but the Hokies will have to stay on Ellis to bring him back into the fold. Fortunately for Virginia Tech, Quincy Patterson is also committed at quarterback.
